Who This Program Is For

This Program is designed for club coaches working with youth fencers, primarily between 10 and 15 years of age. It supports clubs that want a clear, structured approach to physical preparation without relying on ad-hoc sessions or generic conditioning.

The Program is flexible by design and can be adapted across different age groups, experience levels and mixed training groups. Coaches can select and deliver specific parts of the program based on the needs, maturity and training age of their athletes.

How It Works

Structured Framework

The program provides coaches with a clear and progressive framework designed to be delivered within regular club sessions.

Essential and Optional Components

Each session includes an Essential component for younger or less experienced fencers, and an Optional component that can be added for more advanced athletes when appropriate.

Flexible and Engaging Delivery

Coaches select which components to deliver based on group composition, available time, and athlete readiness. Sessions can include tag games, partner drills, and team-based workouts to promote engagement and energy within the group.

Coach-Led System

The program is designed to support coaches, not replace them. It provides structure, progression, and clarity while allowing flexibility in delivery.

Equipment

The Essential component of the program requires basic equipment such as cones, speed ladder, skipping ropes and can be delivered in a standard fencing hall. The Optional component uses small equipment such as kettlebells or dumbbells, plyo boxes, and elastic bands.

Tracking Progress

Progress is monitored at a group level through the basic testing battery and ongoing observation of movement quality and training tolerance. Coaches are responsible for administering tests, recording results and using this information to support safe progression across the season.

Integrated club and individual programs

For clubs with more experienced fencers ready to train independently, the program can be combined with individual services.These options are offered through bespoke agreements based on the club’s needs.

Who delivers the sessions?

Sessions are delivered by the club coach or fitness coach. The programme provides structure, progression and guidance, while delivery and supervision remain the responsibility of the club.

Is this program suitable for mixed-age groups?

Yes. The programme is designed to be adaptable across age and experience levels. Coaches can select Essential or Optional components for different athletes within the same session.

What does the testing battery include?

The programme includes a basic physical testing battery appropriate for youth athletes. Tests are simple, safe and designed to monitor general physical development rather than peak performance.

Who is responsible for testing and tracking progress?

Testing and progress tracking are the responsibility of the club coach. Coaches administer the tests, record results and use them to guide progression and training decisions.

Do coaches need strength and conditioning qualifications?

No formal S&C qualification is required. The programme is designed to be coach-led, with clear structure and guidance to support safe delivery. A basic understanding of movement and coaching is recommended.

Is coach support included?

We want to ensure optimal delivery of the programme, therefore, we provide initial guidance and ongoing support when necessary. The programme also includes access to written guidelines and the option to message through the TrueCoach app for general questions.

Can this program be combined with individual athlete programs?

Yes. For more experienced athletes, the club programme can be combined with individual services such as the Essential or Fencer Programme. These combinations are discussed case by case and offered through bespoke agreements.

Is this program suitable for beginners?

Yes. The Essential component is appropriate for young or less experienced fencers. Progression into Optional components is guided by age, experience and readiness.

TERMS & CONDITIONS AND WAIVER

(Applicable to Fencer Programme, Club Programme, and Essentials Programme)

This Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Luca Malvassori, trading as Strength4Fencing (S4F), a self-employed business registered in the United Kingdom, and the purchasing individual (“Client”). Where the Client is the Parent or Legal Guardian of a minor participant (“Participant”), the Client enters into this Agreement on behalf of the Participant.

By completing the purchase and ticking the acceptance box at checkout, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following Terms & Conditions.

1. PROGRAMME DETAILS

This Agreement applies to the following subscription programmes provided by S4F:
- Fencer Programme
- Club Programme
- Essentials Programme
These programmes consist of pre-written training plans designed for fencers.
Programmes are accessed through an online platform and include general support limited to assistance with:
- access to the app,
- payment issues,
- session organisation.
No video analysis, feedback, or individualised coaching is included in these services.

2. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTION

All programme materials are the intellectual property of S4F and are provided solely for the Client’s or Participant’s personal use.
Redistribution, sharing, or commercial use of the programmes is strictly prohibited.
S4F may collect and process personal data (e.g., name, email, payment details, account access information) solely for the purpose of delivering the services.
Personal data will be stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and S4F’s Privacy Policy.
Communications between S4F and the Client will be conducted primarily via email.

3. PAYMENT TERMS

Payment for all programmes is by subscription.
The subscription will renew automatically on the same calendar day each month until cancelled.
All sales are final and non-refundable.
Failure to complete payment may result in suspension or termination of access to the programme.

4. PROGRAMME USE AND MEDICAL CLEARANCE

Programmes are provided for personal fitness and conditioning purposes only.
Clients and Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are medically cleared to engage in physical activity before commencing the programme.
By accepting these terms, the Client acknowledges the inherent risks of physical activity and assumes full responsibility for participation.

5. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY WAIVER

S4F maintains fitness insurance coverage that applies to minors and adults worldwide, excluding the United States and Canada.
This insurance is secondary to the Participant’s personal circumstances and venue conditions.
Training at home is not covered by S4F insurance.
When training at a gym, fencing club, or other venue, appropriate insurance must be provided by the venue.
The Client and/or Parent/Guardian waives all claims against S4F for any injury, accident, or damages arising from participation in the programme, except where prohibited by law.

6. MINORS

Where the Participant is under 18 years of age:
- The Parent/Legal Guardian must complete the purchase.
- By accepting these terms at checkout, the Parent/Legal Guardian confirms that they have full legal authority to act on behalf of the minor Participant.
- The Parent/Legal Guardian accepts responsibility for the minor’s participation, assumes all associated risks, and agrees to the liability waiver set out above.

7. COMMUNICATION

All notices, queries, and communications must be sent to S4F by email at the address provided on the website.
S4F will aim to respond within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays).

8. DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND JURISDICTION

Any dispute arising under this Agreement will first be referred to mediation before legal proceedings are pursued.
This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
The Client submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.

9. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE

By completing the purchase and ticking the acceptance box at checkout, the Client (and, where applicable, the Parent/Legal Guardian on behalf of the minor Participant):

Confirms that they have read and understood this Agreement.
Agrees to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Accepts the Waiver and Release of liability set out above.
